Any TAs out there do cover supervision when there teacher is on a course or off sick. I have been told today that I will be doing cover supervision on Friday but not for my teacher and not in the same keystage. I normally work in year 1 but will be covering year 3. I get paid a little extra each week in case I am needed to do cover supervision. |

In the past we have had to cover for teachers but were not paid any extra. Work was provided for us and the teacher in the next class-room was always on hand if probs accured. |

I did a course yesterday on classroom management and it seems that if you are paid TA3 rate or above then you can teach. The course leader said that if Ofsted inspected they would look at you as if you were a teacher. Anything that you do that results in childrens learning can be said to invovle teaching whether with a small group or a whole class. It all seems to depend on your level of pay! |
