Hi everyone
Can someone please help? I've got to answer this bit of my assignment and my brain is actually dead!!
Explain how your involvement is intended to enhance a child’s learning in the three subject areas - english, science and maths.
Really not sure what it wants in response...oh dear!
Thanks in advance

i would think they are looking for the ways you support so helping understanding, encouraging independence, scaffolding learning for those who need it

for English helping understanding of the rules etc, well the same for all subects, hlping to achieve targets etc if you do any intervention that is helping to enhance learning

i would answer in the way of imagining how the child would get on without any support, and how your being there is enhancing their learning, and what they can achieve with your support

rl, I am thinking about doing this course in February, alongside E243, what did you think of it. I am currently working with yr3 but have had my timetable rearranged to work in reception once a week. However some of my year 3's are working at P levels/ level one so would the course allow for this do you think? Thanks!

buttercup I work in year one and year 5 and some of my year 5s were also working at P Levels (SEBD school) but I was advised against using these children in assignments due to their chronological age. I hated this course but that is just my personal view. It is very much geared towards nursery and play but reception may just cover it. I used my year one class with a great deal of "filling the gaps myself"!!!

I did this course while working in P1 and I loved it. It's more about analysing what the kids are learning and ow to develop that. the thing that stuck out most about it for me was the way that everything is interrelated - you can't dop a maths/science activity without includiong language etc. It must be horses for courses however, as like rl2957, I've just completed E243 but enjoyed E230 far more. E 243 I found very idealistic and PC. If inclusion was to implemented as prescibed in the course you would need to raise every school that I've ever worked in to the ground!

Thanks for the replies. I think reception will ok as it has quite a big play focus and does its planning jointly with the nursery we have attached to the school.

I am a bit worried about doing the two courses together but I survived E111 so I will just have to keep my end goal in mind!!

Thanks again.
