Can I just ask what your tutor support is like with the OU. I am currently doing an OU course now and our tutor support is horrendous! Telephone contact is difficult as she rarely answers, email contact is awful as she takes 2-3 days to reply each time (and often her emails are so waffly she never really seems to answer my question!).

We have online tutorials which we never seem to use. We were supposed to be having one this week but so far she has not posted - that is quite normal - even if she does post - its only one brief message and no discussion or anything that might help our TMA.

I am doing my ECA now and then it is finishe THANK GOD!

AM hoping to do the new course "Working Together for Children" next and hoping the tutor support will be better!

This is my first OU course so not sure what the tutor support is supposed to be like! Anyone else?

Thanks!
Love

I am lucky - I have been blessed with excellent and very supportive tutors on both the courses I have taken so far.

Hi there,
I had a fantastic tutor for DD100 two years ago and I loved going to his tutorials. This year (U212) I didn't go to any tutorials as they were too far away. My tutor has been encouraging in her TMA feedback and would answer my questions by e-mail, but her replies were always quite short and not always terribly helpful. As it happens, I have asked her a question regarding revision and I'm still waiting for an answer (that was several days ago). Maybe not going to tutorials hasn't helped... Sad

E111 one was pathetic. She dissapeared for a month, lost my essays, delayed them and all without an apology or anything.

U212 one I haven't had much to do with. Her notes have been poor ok though.

It seems to just depend. I know that can happen to any other uni tutor - but you would normally have another tutor you can talk to or other students. But the OU is so lonely. Although we have forums, my tutor group don't ever seem to use them (its only me!) and the general one is fab (i wouldn't have got this far without it!!)

I think its so unfair as I feel I have had almost zero tutor support with this one and I am f inding it really tough. Worried I might fail this ECA. Even if I just scrape a pass it will bring my grade down massively as its 50% of the marks. Sad
