U212 was great but the exam is not good.
Real pain and would never want to do a course with one again as it's in school time and I don't think OU courses are built for exams really. |

I would avoid E230 as far as possible but that's my personal experience. People on here will tell u how much I've hated in. Writing ECA as we speak (or trying to find reasons not to!) and if I were the type to give up, I'd have done it within a week!
Good luck - E243 is a very good course. |

I have just done ED209 (Child Development) which was challenging but very interesting. I am also awaiting an exam and drowning in revision so will get back to you on course when exam is over!
The next course I am doing is DSE212 (Exploring Psychology) I had the materials delivered today and have had a quick look but as first TMA is not due in until November I think it will all stay in box until 19th Oct (exam date)
Which ever course you choose I hope you enjoy it jaydee |

Hiya,
I have just finished DD100, an intro to social change. If you are into politics, pollitical ideologies, economics and theory, then you will enjoy it. I have found the course hard going and uninspiring at times, but stuck with it. On the other hand it is an excellent course which teaches you how to take notes, synthesis material and structure and evaluate arguments within your essay.
The other thing i found was that sometimes it doesn't go into enough depth. Having said that i have been getting marks of 80% plus, so it can't be too bad. I would really look at the home page and if posssible look at the course books which i know you can get in Waterstones before you decide. The course has the higest drop out and if i'm honest i enrolled for it without really looking at what was involved.
Good luck with what ever you choose. It's U212 for me next.

I too fancy u212 next but am a little wary of the exam. Sounds daft but is the exam really hard???? Worried about where I would have to go to take it was well, OU aren't very helpful with info. |

Also just finishing U212. I found most of it really interesting and it definitely challenged my ideas about childhood. Yes, there is an exam and I'm also drowning in revision and at this very moment, I'm feeling very anxious as I feel that nothing is sinking in... It's also my first OU exam, so not too sure what to expect. But the course is worth it.
Go for it !

Those of us doing U212 will get some feedback I am sure from those doing the exam. Hopefully some useful advice can be fed back.
I have a memory like a sieve for recalling information so as long as the use of mind mapping in exam condition is allowed I would cope, {JUST!] |
