I have got an interview midweek for a teaching assistant post in Reception Class, I am looking forward to it and scared at the same time (first school interview).

I am also studying at college for a Foundation Degree Early Years, however I think I will be unable to contutine due to the nature I would 2 half days of instead of 1 morning off so I will have to tell them I can't do it anymore. Which would be a shame as since I have started it, it as improved the way I work with children.

I have worked on supply in Reception Classes and also done some voluntary work in a different school however, I was wondering what type of questions would I get asked and what questions can I ask them?

Thank you in advance.

went for yet another interview today (primary school). Firstly went in with confidence then when I least expected it I got all flustered again, thinking it will be another no. Secondly I felt that they were superior to me as my chair height was smaller and it leaned back and made me feel uncomfoable. I will get some feedback tommorow as apparently I came a very close 2nd again, why does it keep happening?

Anyhow looking for some help, any advice on how to get the job instead of comming a close 2nd all the time? Maybe I am missing something here? My problem is that I wish I could let the see me doing the job then they will see how good I am. Been reading various forums etc and one thing came up is that some people don't do well so miss out however the person they apointed did not do well in the job.

I have another 4 jobs in the pipeline; i interview next week, 1 job shortlisted awaiting interview date, 1 have send in application form and the other one just about to fill in an application form.

Feel better for a rant.

Beth

what a shame you dont get to do a lesson, I thought this was becoming more and more common practice so maybe one of you're future interviews will ask for it. all I can suggest is to get as much feedback as you possibly can, go in with more confidence, you came a 'close' second that has to count for something. Look at each interview not as a failure but as a learning oppertunity, make a note of the questions you have been asked and think about how you could have improved on your answer.

It will happen, the ideal job will be waiting around the corner hug

Ditto Summers post. Just keep remembering you were a close 2nd not an outright no go! Next time go in head held high ans remember they really just want to know about you they are not trying to trick you.

As Summer said YOUR job is just around the corner Wink
