I don't have first hand experiene with them, but based on what they are supposed to be doing, and the guidelines and still fluid I think they are a good idea.

There will be some issues, especially where you have an established service which is trusted and will decide to become a sure start centre.

Did you want to know anything specific? Our F/S teacher came from one, she is full of loads of great ideas!!! Shame she is leaving us at Christmas (mind you I am going as well!)

well a vacancy came up to work at one and I just wondered if they were like a nursery? I know that they cover alot more than just child care but having never been to one, I'm just curious to know what they are all about Very Happy
