Anyone decided what you are choosing for TMA03. I quite like this one
I have decided to go with the 'one on family and kinship.

I've read chapter 1 and didn't really enjoy it very much (bit boring really ). I hope chap 2 will inspire me a bit more. Not sure which TMA to do yet but I'm leaning more towards opt 1 at the moment.

I'm doing option 1 as well - Socialization.

Quite enjoying this book so far. Doesn't seem as heavy going as the previous book.

I've now read chap 2 and have just started on chap 3. They are so much more interesting than chap 1. Still thinking that I might do opt 1 though as I can think of more to write about. Not finding this TMA as easy as the last two

I've just about finished option 2 on the family and found it very interesting and easy!! to string together. Just got the final bit about non parental care to fit in then a conclusion.

I'm writing TMA3 and have so far managed about 650ish words. I've got as far as writing about the socialisation influences of parents, socialisation theories and child rearing processes but have now hit a wall and gone blank. Would it be right for me to now include the comparisons in different cultures e.g the Mundurucu or am I barking up the wrong tree. Any advice is gratefully received Thanks in advance.

Thanks Medusa. TMA3 option 1 is 'How do children become socialised'. I'm still a bit stuck on this one and can't seem to get past the influence of parents and don't know what bits of the book are the most relevant to quote for this section. Don't usually have this problem so maybe this option wasn't the right one for me. A bit late now though as I've written a fair bit already Not expecting a great score for this one but I should be able to make up for it on the next one. Any other advice will be appreciated

if you go into the U212 open forum [OU] at the top of the messages there is a folder with revision notes in there. Someone [Fiona] has put some up for this assignment Book 2 chapter 1 they are under. It shows the main ideas from this chapter that you could use to jog your memory or check if any of it is relevent for your TMA.

I have a copy of those notes already but thank you anyway. I seem to be Ok now and have almost finished so hopefully I'm on the right track. I think because it's quite a difficult topic to write about I was worried it wouldn't flow well. It's impossible to include everything to do with socialisation in 2000 words so I've tried to include all the most important bits. Fingers crossed it will be OK. Thanks again for the help

Got TMA03 results back this morning and I'm really pleased as I got 90% again Didn't think I had a a cat in hells chance of getting anywhere near that so it's a nice surprise Now I can relax and concentrate on the next one.

Congratulations CFB. I got 85% so i'm on cloud nine as well.

Now for tma 4. Think i'm going to go with option 1 for this one.
