What are the options this year? I know I wrote about whether childhood is a natural or social process.
Good luck with it |

Option 1: Describe the different perspectives used to explain the process of child development. To what extent can child development be seen as a 'natural' process?
Option 2: How has recognising the importance of social context extended our understanding of children's abilities and cognitive development? Illustrate your answer with reference to the examples shown in Media Kit 1, Video Band 1, Children Learning: Cognitive Development. this section of the video band starts at the timecode 23:00
Phew... I don't like either question... _________________

I have chosen option 2 but as I am writing it following the guidelines in the booklet, don't really feel as though I am answering the question.
I might stop and have a go at Option 1!! Both seem hard though |

Option 1 sounds like the one I did.
Just go with the one you feel happiest with rl2957 |

Has anyone got any tutorial notes they'd be willing to share? My tutorial is on Valentines Day (why?!!!) so I'm going to miss it. Think I'm going for Option 1 now as well after starting Option 2 and finding it really hard. |

I too would love someone to share tutorial notes. I struggle to get to tutorials for family reasons. Mine was last Saturday, and I posted on the ED209 OU page and e-mailed my tutor and have had no reponse from either.

Well.... I've finally settled for Option 1 and am typing away as we speak. How is everyone getting on?
Just realised its only 18 days till this assignment is actually due in! |

Well, I've finished mine and tweaked it a bit... not quite sure how I feel about it either way! Will probably tweak it a bit more between now and then, but at least it's done in the main.
On another subject entirely - I wonder how much of the anatomy of the eye and ear etc we will be expected to remember (just done Chapter 3)?! I'm getting a bit bogged down in the 'technical terms' generally and with anatomy thrown in as well.... It's all very interesting though.
How's everyone else doing? _________________

One of the worst things about this course is that the exam questions could come from any chapter
I wouldn't worry about the anatomy of the eye/ear medusa. Concentrate on getting the links between the various chapters and key points of child development.
Good luck |
