I'm in the process of knitting scarves using that very thin wispy wool. might show one here when its finished. not as straight!!!as the shop bought ones but it's giving me pleasure and it might - they might...make good xmas presents for next Christmas.
i'd be right chuffed if someone gave me one! straight or not!!! would always remind me of that person,.
but nothing in the league of these crocheted garments - they're lovely.

I don't know why you don't teach your crafts at night school JD I'm sure that there would be a demand. Certainly in this neck of the wood there would be here. The dolls clothe you've made are lovely.
My Mother used to crochet and knit. I sewed and knit but haven't done either in many a year. It's a shame that these sorts of skills are dying out. I remember my Upper 6 class teacher taught some of us to tat at a lunch time. I've forgotten how to do that as well.
When you can buy a child's jumper for a couple of pounds nowadays there doesn't seem to be any incentive to make your own. There's hard any haberdashery shops around nowadays. In fact around here I can only think of one store that has a department. All the independent shops have long closed down for lack of people buying from them.
I'm going to have a play with my new brayer later and see what I can achieve. _________________ Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue

I'm not making but re-organising all my craft stuff into Really Useful Company boxes all labled so I can find stuff.I'm still reeling form the 100plus cards I made for Christmas. I'm hoping to clean out the small bedroom that Jimbo has vacated in favour of her brother's old room(she just makes more mess.) This room has potential fo a craft room! One day!
My sewing machine is playing up so I can't show you the story sacks. Oh I am re-covering an old eiderdown. DON'T ever do it. My best friend was showing me how but sadly she died before we finished it so I have vowed to do it this holidays.I had told her we would put it on the bed and she could come and see it and we'd bounce on the bed. It made her laugh when she wasn't well. We were looking forward to it so I'm going to bounce on it anyway. |

I've just finished knitting two Kipper the Dog soft toys for two of the teachers I have worked with who have had babies in the last eighteen months. The teacher I am working with now starts her maternity leave on the 29th Feb so I feel another one is on the way (if you excuse the pun). Although, Wibbly Pig is very tempting for a change. I have made about 10 Kippers since I made the first one for my son 10 years ago.
I am wondering if any of the teachers will work with me soon as the last three I have worked with have all got pregnant. lol |

PS:
Not being cheeky it has loads of patterns free. I'm thinking of teaching the kids but there are 28 so wondering if it might be difficult. |

I am thinking of changing my mind and making felt instead. It would be easier with 28.I might have a go at teaching them in small groups do you think it would come under Literacy-Instructions I found some gorgeous wool on ebay to felt. The kids could design their colours. |
