Hi i heard my name Very Happy

Well i have used/heard about many ways to record observations but one of the best was post its !!

When you see a child doing something you want to record then make a quick note and date it on a post it and stick it on a sheet under the correct heading for each goal etc. You can then write it up in full later.

Another good way is to only observe a certain group of children at a time which can make it easier and/or have a aloted member of staff doing observations. This person wears a crown so the children know not to distrub them.

Tick charts are good when combined with post its.

Tape recording the chidren is also a nice way to do observation for speaking and listening etc

Any good?

Another good one i just remebered is getting the children to observe themselves !!

Basically you make up sheets in the shape of a flower for each area , with petals for each goal etc the child colours in the petal when they have achieved the goal and you date it.

Traffic light systems are good to.
