Hi! I'm very new to this so bear with me!

I've applied for a special learning assistant in a nursery that will hopefully lead on to full time work in the main school (following the child through school).

I really want this job cos my current role in a primary school looks like it may cease very soon cos of the budget...or lack of it in our school.
The LSA's have all been forewarned...nothing's definate but being as I'm the last one in (only started in Sept 2007!), I feel it's likely that I may be one to go.

What do you think? Do I jump before I'm pushed?

HELP!

That is so difficult. I think I would go for the new job, even if it turns out just for experience. But that's me.

However, first I would ask for a chat with the HT and ask for their honest opinion. You know tell then how much you love working at the school etc Wink and see if they can be more forthcoming about the likelyhood of you being asked to leave

Good luck whatever you choose to do.

I agree with True. Apply for the job, you will put the school as a reference and so you could approach the HT saying I've seen this job, think my job may be insecure, etc etc and see how they react.

Good luck

Hello again!

Thank you for your advice. I feel like I'm going mad....and that's on a good day!
I think ur right and I will have a chat with the HT.

I have kept the applications to myself because I don't want the school to think that I am planning on going anyway which may give them the green light..if you know what I mean!

Hope I'm not jumping the gun cos if I talk with the Ht and let her know what I'm feeling and then don't get the job I could be up ****'s creek etc!

If your head is a reasonable person, I think they will understand why you need to know/are applying for other jobs. The chat will either reassure you or confirm that you need to look for another job.

Good luck.

Hello everyone!

I have good news....I have an interview on friday for the post I have previously droned on about!

Hopefully it will put me out of my misery and I can go into the weekend knowing one way or another...now I've got to practise my interviewing techniques...not easy with a husband like mine I can tell you!! (Making me laugh and saying silly things..don't get carried away now!)

Any advice girlies?!
