I'm also looking at TMA3 now, trying to get ahead with both courses by the end of the holidays, so I don't get so behind when going back to work!!
I liked the look of Option 1, but probably because I work in SEBD. Always seems to be the type of option I go for!
Glad that TMA's out the way now but saying that I didn't find it too hard, in actual fact it was easier (for me) than TMA1. Ah well we will see when the results come back. I had studied a lot of that for A Level Psychology though so may be why.
Hope everyones enjoying the "break".... off to get on with TMA2 for SD226 now! Now that course is HARD....! |

Hi!
I'm more tempted by option 2 as well. I am finding Book 2 alot more interesting than book 1 , although reading A and B in Methods and Skills are REALLY heavy going . I keep stopping and starting with them and can't get into them at all!! Have you got to them yet?
I really think I need a less complicated version of them!

I haven't started them yet but hope to over the next few days (so I'm not VERY ahead, just more ahead than I have been in the past... ). I must say it does look more my cup of tea as well; I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I think the reason I found the last chunk a bit challenging was because I haven't ever done anything psychology based and don't intend to follow a psychology route. Fortunately though on a more general level I'm quite interested in psychology! I'm doing the course because it's part of the degree that I'm aiming for. _________________

Hi all,
How is this course compared to U212 { Medusa?] have to say I am enjoying U212 and am three weeks ahead with this assignment so having a bit of breathing space. Would you say it's a good choice to do after u212 as this is the one I'm thinking of doing next [if I manage to remember anything for the exam that is.] |

HI!
I did U212 ( and E243) last year. I have found book 1 of ED209 really hard going - tempted to give up several times!! I am onto book 2 now, and have sent TMA 2, and am enjoying like I did U212. I am finding it far more relevant, although some of the mpre technical psychology stuff needs reading several times.
How are you finding U212?

There are a few parallels; for example, Piaget and Vygotsky put in an appearance (!!). It is useful to have done U212 first; I don't feel quite as out of my depth as I might have, if I had not done U212. I am finding this course interesting; not loving it as much as U212 at the moment though! That is largely down to getting to grips with a completely different way of working though (am used to doing essays but not methodology etc) and so on the whole it's not too bad. I would say that it was about the best option I could have chosen for my particular degree even though I'm not planning to follow psychology. What are your other options?
Sorry to waffle; just a few rambling thoughts at this point in the course - hope it answers your question!! _________________

Bluebell27, I haven't done U212 but have done ED209, I went straight to it after E111. I really enjoyed it, but I had done an A Level psychology course before E111 so was used to methodology.
It is a very interesting course, if hard going!!
Medusa, I am sure I have asked this before bt what degree are you going for?
Happy studies all |

Thanks all
Sounds like I need to do this one next then. I am thinking of the childhood and youth studies too but haven't ruled out an open degree yet. |

Hi!
I have done option 2 as well and it's just about finished!
Trouble is, if I go on the course conference it gives me loads of doubts!!
