We're downsizing to a one teacher school with a half time teacher as support because of the level of ASN pupils. I'm going to be working with all ages of pupils from a child in P1 with global developmental delay to a child in P7 with severe dyslexia. 2 pupils are considered to need 1-1 as well as others with IEPS - and I'm it along with a classroom assistant who has 8hours and isn't supposed to do ASN work - but will.

I'm not going to be a TA anymore, I'm trying to get back into my previous career in Radiography. I can't work as Radiographer where I live now (Germany) and being a TA was the only job available that appealed to me. I did enjoy it and think I did a good job too but we're moving back to the UK in the summer so I'm going back to the NHS... Got 2 interviews lined up so fingers crossed Smile
WOW! Big changes ahead for you CL.....good luck

The HT decides so we wont know for ages as still don't know where the children are going(we have two classes for most year groups) and then I don't know whether I will keep the same pupils with SEN or get new ones. I think it will be KS2 though and I am keeping some PPA and am getting paid HLTA rates next year(should be this 1/2 term too Confused )
I will probably know before next year.

Have been told today, I am working in Y6 numeracy 1 lesson a day. The rest of my time is to be sorted 'as we go along' but will involve a bucket load of behaviour and inclusion work, just what I enjoy!! Not exactly sure what other TA's are doing only that they are doing less cover supervision, haven't had a chance to chat with the others.

I still don't know. The teachers have been told and some of them have let it slip to the TA's, majority of KS2 teachers are moving around and some have said that they would like to keep their TA's but HT doesn't like to hear that. Since being at my school I have been in yr 3/4 and 4/5 and would quite like to move to 5/6 so just have to wait and see.

I am guessing we won't know for another couple of weeks yet though!

Well I had both my interviews and got offered both jobs so was in the very enviable position of being able to choose!
1 job was at a specialist hospital in a large city doing shifts and night duties the other was at the local community hospital doing fixed hours with the possibility if a school hours contract with no nights and 1 weekend a month.
I went for the local one as I HATE commuting and can save a shed load on fuel costs and childcare costs but not driving and not sitting in traffic for an hour each morning and evening. So I'll not be TAing anymore and will be Radiographer again.
Very happy it's all turned out well...just have to find a decent childminder now Confused
