Hi,

I posted this to hear your views, and to the hope of helping me get a TA job.
I finished Bachelor of Secondary Education and started MA in Special
Education in my country-PI, and worked as a teacher in overseas countries
for almost four years with primary and secondary responsibility, including
academic/training schools. I moved here three months ago and now trying
to get a TA/TA Sen/Classroom Support position. I’d like to know if I’ll
qualify the said position without NVQ qualification.
Your reply is very much appreciated. Thanks.

I would say yes but it depends where you work. You may find you would need some training in child development if you haven't worked in the Nursery or Reception classes otherwise you should have no problem finding work.

If you go to your local Education Authority (LA) you may find they have a team for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.I would think they may be very interested in employing you.If their team is full I am sure they would accept you on the supply list. This is a good way of getting started. You could send out a CV to schools in your area.

If you get in touch with NARIC they will look at your qualifications and see if you can work here as a teacher. It costs about £60 to have them equalisised and more if you want a certificate. You may already have this information.
