guessing the easiest way to approach this is regarding SAT's results and the value added score...working with small groups individuals to raise their levels of understanding and how it links to the schools scores, local and national scores in league tables!! thats how I am reading it anyway! _________________ Careful what you wish for, you might just get it! |

Hi,
I wrote about this along with part v. - 'How to gather and present evidence of your contribution to raising pupil achievement within the school.
I wrote about the children I work with and how I amaware of targets on IEPS to help them move on. I used an example of 2 different children who I had helped achieve a target this way. I wrote about the RML (phonics) group I worked with, assessing them before and after to check what improvement they had made.
I wrote about a speaking and listening intervention that I undertook, helping 3 children to improve those skills and improve their writing.
Nationally I talked about league tabls, SATs results and Ofsted reports showing th achievements. I said how I knew KS1 children were expected to reach a level 2 and how I worked in numeracy booster groups to ensure this. KS2 children also receive booster activities. Chldren in KS1 who achieve level 2c are targeted as potentially reaching $c at the end of Y6, so they recieve support to achieve this predicted level.
Mention any intervention groups you work with or specific groups that you are aware of targets and expectations so you can help the children to achieve these. |

Hi
I have just started this course and am slightly confused as to what is expected from me. Our tutor/ assessor has asked us to complete unit 3 by the next time we meet but I have no idea what they want from us in form of evidence, written work etc.
Surely they could show us an example of what they want from us?
Is any one able to share an example of unit 3 so that I can finally understand what and how they want this work recorded.
Many thanks

I think you should ask you tutor to provide an example, albeit even a partial example, of what is required. My tutor was awful at explaining how to put it all together. Relax, it will come to you after a couple of units. (I never thought it would).
Basically you need to look at the performance indicators, then try to think of instances where you have done this. It doesn't all have to have happened in one lesson or even one day.
Break each pi down into events that have occurred during your work and then write about them. This is why keeping a daily diary is essential. It is easy to forget things that have happened that can help you. You can always then look back on events.
If you have not met a pi, don't worry, just explain to your teacher that you need to meet a pi, for example relating to bumped heads, shadow the first aider and ask if you can take charge with her as advisor, he/she will then show you how to record the incident etc.
Hope this helps a little.xx |
