|
|
I have bought a set of these Jolly Phonic tricky word flowers and want some ideas of how to use them in a display.
Appreciate any creative ideas. All I can come up with is to cut out templates of BIG circles and stick these on the end to have as hanging flowers.
But I think they would be better incorporated in some kind of display?
Hoping for some creative inspiration!
These are what I mean if you are not familiar with them

There are 72 tricky words [High frequency I call them] some reception words there [the ones that can't be sounded out too well] but also words from the yr 1/ 2 Hf list.
Really useful to have around.
BEAMIE WHERE ARE YOU!!!
I have got a blank wall that is crying out to be filled so maybe a spring picture? |

THANKS!!!!
Brilliant! I'm going fo the garden. One of the the jolly phonic characters is a busy bee, I will also put the ants in a line holding up some tiny letters beneath the flowers, so it says a-n-t-s and I might have the other character inky mouse with the watering can. I think I will velcro the flowers on the stems then that way I can change them, even use them in the spelling tests we do each week. tell the kids the flowers will be changed when they are all spelling them correctly in their work.
THaNK-YOU!
I'll post a picture when it's done

Got the display up today, will take my camera in tommorow and photograph it.
I drew The objects- bee Mr tricky watering can etc and asked some year one children to come out and paint. I wanted them to take care with painting the objects but let a year one child loose with the paint and it's a slap it on job As you will see! haha. |

Here's the finished display. All the flowers are in sets of different colours so I have a different coloured pages of all the different words. I have laminated this and made into a hanging book.
The children can circle the words they see on display in the book and check to see if Mr tricky has changed any words overnight.
By the way painting done by enthusiastic year 1 children not me!
