Hi
I am qualified as a NNEB but as I qualified in 1990 obviously things have changed a great deal and was wondering if anyone could advise any courses that would refresh and update my knowkledge of the Early years.
Thanks in advance |

Hello Tracey
Maybe Eliza could help with this question, or there may be something in our CPD and training section (had a quick look, just now, but there are several pages ....) |

I am doing certificate in early years practise with Open University. I am halfway through, have found it very interesting and hard work at times working ft and studying, but it is all vocationally based with referencing to course work. Tutors are great.

Course runs Feb to Oct, so xmas is free to stress about costumes for xmas concerts!!!
If you decide to do something like this, you know where you can find me.

Hi Debs
Have you done a OU course before?
I was looking at this one Supporting Children's Learning in the Early Years .
Also would that be like the equivilant of HLTA
Do you find it an easy course? |

To get the certificate it's E123 and E124, which I am doing together this year.
I had found E123 hard at first, and my first assignment wasn't good, but I managed to pass. Had the second one back this week and had passed with some really good comments on.
E124 was easier for me as I could see the reasoning behind the assignments.Passed first well and am waiting for the result of second assignment at the moment
The only reason I found it hard was that I hadn't really done any formal writing for 16 years. Getting back in the swing now though and really enjoying it.
Am looking at which course to do next, as I am really getting the hang of it. |

I looked at the same route as you Debs but I dont think I will be able to afford it all and may have to do just the E111 but still at £565 its a lot
Agter doing my child protection course today I wouldnt mind going down that route either but not sure what qualifiactions to take so am going to enquire about that.
Debs I think you qualified the same year as me ( 1990) so are you NNEB?
I am working in a secondary school in sept as a ssa |
