If using staples it's always better to put them in at an angle rather than straight as they're much easier to remove..........................
but I prefer not to use staples - I use blutack as it is much easier to move components of your display around until you're happy with it |

Use drawing pins first then when your happy with it you can staple it. Put the staples at an angle and not completely in as they are easier to remove. |

you've beaten me to it! i was going to suggest the very same. Great minds think alike maybe!
with my limited knowledge on the subject i've started to use blutack more often. Easier to dismantle afterwards, doesn't leave pinholes all over the place and as you say is easier to move the work around whilst 'still in the deciding where to put it all 'stage.
i think it important too not to overcrowd the board. Keep it simple!
i could do with some tips on how to arrange stuff though. Overlapping, at an angle, all of that.
My displays are still VERY SIMPLE and STRAIGHT. i guess that comes with practice and confidence and trial and error.

Hi
I do all the displays in our room at the moment and they have all been greatly received.
My trick is to make them 3d. Use kids work like booklets but leave the booklets open
I also like to make titles 3d. Making it wavy when fixing it etc.
It makes people (teachers as well as the kids take notice if they are unsure_Also liek to use a colour theme. for example for roald Dahl theme I chose Green and yellow for all teh backing. For a seaside theme I took blue and yellow etc.
I always like to do a little announcement at the bottom....This display was made by...and then put the kids names in. They take great pride in it.
Just to be me more anal I like to email certain teacher (whether it be their tutors or subject teachers) to let them know the display is ready to be looked at!
sORRY IF i HAVE BABBLED ON! |

Im annoyed at self...they were ripped down on last day of term so boards could be 'donated ' to another department!
am really sorry!
Ill most prob be doing more this term SO ill bear in mind to take a quicky piccie and store it.
ANOTHER trick is to use WRAPPING paper as backing.....you can often get 5 for £1 etc and covers a large board.
I had one which had rainbows on it for a book review...really sweet! even for 13 yr olds! |

I tend to take photos of displays I've done for my own records, almost like a portfolio 8) |

Use a bigger /longer size staple than the normal size which are great for keeping 3D or thick cardboard peices on the wall. The staples reach the wall so much better then standard one |
