Well I've managed to put one for each paragraph roughly as that's what my tutor was telling me. not saying it makes much sense but there you go. I do try to weave my reference into what I'm saying normally [rather than just plonking them on the end] but I'm afraid I do have a few this time just sitting there on the end of a sentence.
I would look at the PSHE references with your job Steve if that's who you have been planning for.
here's an example of one of mine as I was explaining how the group Id planned for didn't work together very well [yr 1 children]
As Galton and Williamson [1992] state in study topic 10 on page 10, children need to be taught how to work collaboratively in a group so they have clear ideas of what is expected
hope this helps |

Cheers bluebell. A star as ever.
Going to finish it off tomorrow, it'll just have to do. Not happy with this one, and continue to be wound up by the fact I still have no TMA05 back.
Ah well. It's only one TMA and all the others have been pretty good so far. |

Well today I got an e-mail off a certain RH who told me JC has been off sick and they're trying to sort other tutors to mark the TMA's. He said I should have been informed though.
Still not happy but not a lot I can do now bar finish of the TMA today and slap it in the post. |

Good luck with it all Steve - it must be frustrating. Have you had tutorial notes etc?
There seems to have been a bit of a cock up with tutors on this course, luckily not affecting me but I do feel very bad for the people it has affected. |

Nope got no tutorial notes either. So I've done TMA06 completely on my own, no notes, no help from TMA05 notes, no nothing as I can't attend tutorials.
I've e-mailed the OU tonight telling them what's happened because this is two TMA's in a row now I've had to write without having my last one back
Ah well. It's done now and in the envelope ready for posting.
Just the ECA to do now.............and a lot more on U212! |

Well guess what?
Took my TMA to the Post Office this morning and it's now gone.
Got back home to see my TMA05 on the doormat and a letter from the OU telling me my TMA has been sent elsewhere for marking but I should still send my TMA06 to my normal tutor. Dated 10th April.
How bad is that? To send a letter only 6 days before the next one is due explaining there has been problems. Will be interesting to see what response I get from them via e-mail from what I sent last night.
It's a lot of money for this course to me and don't feel the service has been great at all. |

Steve,
It's such a shame that your experience of doing E111 hasn't been good. I know it doesn't help but my tutor has been brilliant and I haven't had any problems. I've heard from others that they have had a similar experience to me. All I can say is we are nearly finished and good on you for sticking with it despite all the problems. Good luck with the ECA |

Glad you got the TMA in the post Steve. As you say it's expensive to study with OU so not getting feedback can be a bugger.
However it's not just this course, my last course had a fantastic tutor but if you didn't attend the tutorial you missed out a lot of information as they were never emailed to you [even if you attended.] On the strength of that I decided to attend tutorial for this course but to be quite honest, I haven't written any TMAs on the strength of the tutorials.
Having said that I have no real complaints about my tutor and they always send notes the same day of tutorial.
Am not going to ECA one and will take pot luck. |

Thanks rl2957, that'd be great.
This gets better. Just got an e-mail back off the OU saying they have no record of my TMA being received. Yet I now have it back!?!
I give up!!! |

I'm sure in the most part these courses go fine. Mine had until recently, and U212 has been great but I think I'm going to put in a complain about this.
Nearly £600 and a lot of my time has been spent on this, and they've mucked up more than enough times. We'll see what they say. |

Dont blame u Steve I wouldnt be too happy. Its not ideal to write a TMA without the previous one there to reflect on...especially the ECA where I have referred to previous TMA's.
Good luck with it all - I have always found the OU staff to be more than helpful. |
