How is the child?

Books with tactile illustrations, abacus, extra large calculater, plastic nuts and bolts, dry beans, raw rice, and macaroni for pouring instead of water and stickle bricks. Play dough can be used to make letter shapes. Cut out letter shapes in sandpaper. Just a few ideas.

He is 4 years old. I never thought of the plastic nuts and bolts, or the dry rice etc. Thanks for that.

Fine grade sandpaper is good for cutting out letter shapes when he gets onto that. Also adding scents and textures(e'g dried pasta/seeds to playdough to give him that extra sensory input you just have to be careful of someof the oils as they can be irritants.

also yellow and blue are good colours to put together for someone with a visual impairment, much better than black and white,or red.
