Hello! Have you joined TACHAT but have yet to make that first post? Does it seem a bit scary? Not sure what to put? Well, how about having a paddle in the shallow end here before you dive into the big pool!
So come on, jump in and hit your first, submit button. We really look forward to seeing you.
Very Happy

I still feel a little hesitant to chip in at times not because i don't feel welcome, but admire the wisdom of others here!! I enjoy reading what others have to say.
I'm sure there are others like me who get alot of reassurance from reading posts even if they dont wish to post on a particular thread.
I'm not a woman of many words but sometimes I just post an encouraging little smiley, or a few words to say hi on a thread .
I love the fun and games posts in the Staff Room and I'm hooked on the trivia quiz (even though I'm not a high scorer), which is why my postings have increased recently!
Thank you !!! so much for this website folks, its a valuable support resource to have on the net. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hi goldcrest. Do you really feel that you are not welcome? Sad
I must admit I do worry still that I may annoy some of the other members by joining in what appear to be private threads but to be fair no one has ever made me feel that way. Very Happy
I have only been a member for about 4 months but I just join in. Go on do it, it really is fun and they are all really lovely, honest Very Happy
If you join in more we can get to know you better and vice versa Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Believe me none of the threads you read are private. Some of us have got to 'know' each other over a period of times and some times refer to past incidents on the forum. You'll find we oldies quite often refer to Beamie and her sheep. It's not that we mean to cut any one out it's rather the same way you talk to family in front of other people.

Please ask if you want something explained, or if you prefer not to do that, why not put a few words in the search and see what comes up.

You'll find that over a period of time you'll have an 'in' on the jokes and the newbies will be wondering what is going on.

It's all the fun of the forum. Very Happy

Try going away for a few days as I did this week and you'll soon start wondering whats been going on while you've been away.

I felt exactly that way for a few weeks, like I was evesdropping

But as you can see from my posts I feel slightly more at home now

Hi!
Lisa-Jane wrote:Hi goldcrest. Do you really feel that you are not welcome? Shocked

I DO feel welcome here and keep logging on because of that!!!

What I actually typed was: "....its not that I dont feel welcome..."

If one takes out the word "not" it alters my intended message big time! No wonder I has a few concerned replies.

Thanks for the encouraging remarks, folks. Very Happy

I was wondering what a 'Class Monitor' is ( on the forum, of course) and how do you progress to 'Top of the class' here? I think it is to do with the number of posts... Confused

i always worry that new members feel that they may be intruding on threads, but that is never the intention, and hopefully everyone welcomes others whenever they post and join in Very Happy

and anyone is welcome to post a new thread or idea, or if you are unsure then just ask any staff member, they are here to help Very Happy

I often to like to think for a while before posting, and them the thread has moved on.
I think this is a very welcoming site with a great deal of encouragement and practical advice to offer. Thats why I keep reading, even if I am not a prolific poster. I'm happy to keep plodding along..................and getting those covetted low scores on the trivia quiz, hoping one day to be among the high scores..... Very Happy
