Laminate your display letters so that they can be used again, I have saved all of last years display letters from year 4, and they are using them all again Very Happy

Before cutting out letters for a display, put a sheet of black paper/card behind the sheets you are using so you get a set of black letters as well. Then as you put them up, put the black letters underneath the top letters, but slightly overlapping (either top, bottom, left, right). This gives a really effective 3D block effect to the display.

I use a hand held stapler rather than a gun much easier to get out when you are taking them down. I also use tacky back on some displays to not only help keep the colour as the sun bleaches the backing paper, but alos so displays can be changed without leaving that horrible oily mark from blutack. This also makes the displays more interactive and childrn can move things around.

also, consider your colours...complementary or harmonising.
