what age
when mine were little one of them made a little parcel, wrapped with paper she had printed and tied with a little bow
on the outside was a poem, i'll have to look it up, but it was something about being full of love and sealed with a kiss, it was very sweet _________________ Be kinder than necessary cus everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle |

An acrostic of Mother, Mother's Day, Mummy, Love, etc... might be an interesting filler for your cards (dependent on age of the class)
Take a known poem, give them the first (couple?) of lines, and ask to continue in the appropriate rhyme scheme, or in the style of X. |

One of my children made one years ago that was in the shape of a teapot and had a teabag on a string inside, that was quite nice!
We did one at school with 3d flowers. Cut different sized circles from coloured paper and snip round the edges, fold these out to make a 'trumpet', they can be glued inside eah other to make chrysanthemum-type flowers. Tear sugar paper slightly smaller than the card front and in a contrasting colour. Mount the flowers on this and stick to the card. The rough edges of the torn paper is quite effective.
Don't know if I explained that very well hope it makes sense! _________________ A balanced diet is a Mars bar in each hand. |

Was just looking for ideas and saw this mentioned before .....
Hugs Box Gift Craft
Materials Needed:
Small Box
Tissue Paper
Glue
paper
Instructions:
Cut many approximately 2 inch x 2 inch squares from the tissue paper. Cut out plenty because you will be covering the whole box!
Water down the glue - 2 parts glue to 1 part water. Lightly brush some glue on the box and stick on the tissue paper squares you cut out. You want them to overlap so you do not see the box. Work in small sections until the entire box is covered. Set aside to dry. Once it is dry, you can lightly brush over your box with the glue and water mixture to make it more durable and shiny; however this is optional.
Once dry, tie with curly ribbon as you would a wrapped present and attached a gift tag which reads...
This is a very special gift
That you can never see
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me.
Whenever you are lonely
Or are ever feeling blue
You only have to hold this gift
And know I'm hugging you.
You never can unwrap it
Please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold the box close to your heart
It's filled with hugs inside. |
