How is everyone doing ? Have you started revising yet ? Or are you still writing TMA 07 ? I have finished the latter but still have chapter 6 to finish reading before tackling the revision.

Good luck with everything !

Shorty. Very Happy

The exam is on October 17. I have finished the final draft of 07 (I hope) and am going to be covering the last two chapters of the book over the next week or so and then tackling revision.

Good luck with it all everyone! Very Happy

Steve and Medusa, is this your first OU exam ? It's my first with the OU and the last exam I took was many years ago ! Shocked My tutor said there was some very good info on the OU website regarding revision. Are you going to revise all 4 books or only 3 ?

Technically yes, this is my first exam but I did one TMA under 'exam conditions' with DD100, which wasn't really an exam just a practice.

I will probably revise bits of the whole course using my notes and checking back in the books for clarification etc, making sure I know the key figures (eg: Rousseau, Piaget etc) and what they did/said/thought/whatever. Very Happy

I also have an exam with my current course (ED209 - Child Development) there is some info on revising on my course forum which I will look at and post if it is a generic thing.

My exam is on 19th Oct (Friday afternoon at 2.30pm - what lovely timing!!) I have sent off my last TMA today (06) and have started revision; we have a 'seen' question essay which we can plan but have to include relevant independent research for and then 2 other essay questions to answer from 3 other books. The exam is for 3hrs, how long is yours?

I would like to wish you all luck with 07, revision and the exam.

Yes, I remember the DD100 practice at writing under exam condition. I got 90% !! But then we had seen the question and were able to really plan for it, didn't we ?

The U212 exam is also 3 hours long and is on 17th Oct. at 10.00am. I don't know yet how to go about the revision. Will probably do something similar to you Medusa, and intend to 'boil it down' to one page ! It's all about understanding the main themes and concepts and being able to be critical... Easier said than done Shocked

Thank you for your good wishes, Veggie and of course, very best of luck to you too for your exam ! Very Happy

Steve, did you get hold of past papers ? Your tutor should be able to discuss the exam conditions with you and let you know what to expect and give you tips about revision.

Well TMA sent. It's not the best by any stretch of the imagination but it'll have to do now.

Yeah have got the past papers but still not sure really how to go about it.

Think as said above you need to get the basic theorys and theorists in your head and then get really critical in the exam. My tutor LOVES you to criticse things.

TMA 7 sent and received back already Very Happy , so on with the revision!!
Sad
Only revising 3 books ( have left book 3 out), and have used the past papers to identify recurring themes and am focussing on 3 units per book - just hope this isn't too narrow! I don't seem to be getting far - can't get the reducing it down to 1 A4 page per unit as has been suggested!! Sad

Don' think I can find the time to do more revision than that and am trying not to panic ( and failing) Rolling Eyes

Good luck to everyone!

I got mine back yesterday too! Shocked I was amazed! Very Happy I think my tutor must've had smoke coming from her keyboard or something by the time she'd finished... lol

Have just finished the final two chapters... bit late, but hey-ho! Rolling Eyes

Now on to the revision... might go to the revision session in London at the end of September. Confused
