Can't remember where I got it from, but it is effective, and I use it on the cat too.

I'd get some Front Line spot on for Dogs. You put it on their neck once a month. You can buy the little pipettes from the vet or in fact a lot of pet shops seems to be selling it nowadays. Or get it online. Don't bother getting the supermarket stuff
