Hi

I have a job interview next week and the invitation states that there will be a short test and interview. Anyone any ideas on what the test might be? I have NVQ3 so surely it wouldn't be numeracy/literacy. Any ideas!

Sorry not had to do that, hopefully someone can be more help to you. Could you possibly ask the school? If you don't want to ask outright, maybe telephone and say something like...

'not sure what type of test it is, is there anything I need to bring/prepare'

never know they may then tell you what it is Wink

Hi

Received a letter from the school this morning. I have to prepare for a 20 minute observed session with 4 year 5 children. The objectives are to Identify the key features and structure of a report. I have to produce my own text.

Crikey.Do you mean you have to write it or just bring it? You could use a newspaper report and change it.Or use one and change it using characters.OOOOHHHHHHH! Just remembered we did one on STAC where we had to write a report on Humpty Dumpty you could write one, discuss it with the kids and get them to write one of there own from another characters point of view.Bet you would get Brownie points for that.It is fun so would engage them. You could use another character but this would be at every child's level in case pupils with SEN.We wrote ours from the soldiers point of view.

Hi

Thanks for your advice.

At the end of the sesion we (the children and i) have to write a list of the key features of a report. I have spent hours checking all the possible key features which i have written down and i have found a piece of text which i hope the children will find interesting. One thing i don't know is what level the children are working at i may contact the school on Monday to check.

I work in a Yr 5 class and they are quite a mixed bunch from those who could write a good report to those who can bearly write a sentence.
Glad you have found something.

just to say schools usually pick quite good kids education wise they dont pick those who struggle or the really clever ones or ones with major behaviour issues I'm sure I know of some reports on the major teaching resource websites you could use think there's a checklist on tda or national literacy strategy as well will check for you

yeap there's some stuff on standards site but trawling through it's not easy and there's some help on primary resources
