Can I tke a job as HLTA i I have BEd and QTS? or is it a completely different job?

I went for a job interview for TA, but they offered me a job as HLTA instedt? Is that possible without the HLTA course?

In my LA you cannot be paid at HLTA rate unless you have the status. Without it you would be paid at Level 3.

We have a qualified teacher covering as HLTA in our school, surely a teacher is qualified higher than HLTA status, so as long as they're prepared to accept the lower pay level I don't see why they cannot be employed Confused

Can anyone tell me how much exactly a HLTA gets paid. I work in the borough of Southwark. Confused

There are too many variables to give you a definitive answer to that unfortunately. What is paid in one school might not be paid in another. Rolling Eyes

I think ours (hants) start at 18k, but remember that is full time (52weeks etc)
