i have just been put on the board for achievement and standards commitee does anyone know what this means,sorry to sound thick i have my first meeting next week

I am on our standards committee and we look at attainment at various points in the year. This means we look at levels etc achieved by % of children rather than individually, and compare to national expectations of attainment and progress. We also look at info such as reports from observations and book trawls. This is always 'anonymous', that is presented as 'in some classes....' although as a staff governor it's usually fairly clear who it is!!
We also look at policies that are linked to the curriculum and pupil welfare, and anything to do with SEN.
