one of our members, Shell, is taking part in The Race for Life on Sunday at 2pm at Oldham

I would like to say a big Thank you to Dq for the thread....and for the good luck!

As it mentions I have lost a few pepole to cancer, but I am doing this years race for life for in memoey of my partners best friend. He passed away leaving his family and a 2 year old son, who because of his illness didn't spend a great deal of time with him.
This disease is nasty and the more we can do to find a cure for it the better, which is why I am taking part in the race for life.

I started my target of at £150 and pasted this amount within one day of getting sponsors...and so I cahnged my target and it is £500...I don't have that far to go to beat this and all the help and support no matter how big or small it all adds up and all helps.

My nephew Martin died of a brain tumour when he was 6. His 18th birthday would have been this year - so some of his 'birthday money' is yours. Good luck for your run!

My sister died from cancer 8 months ago. This is for her and all the others who have suffered.

My best friend died two years ago and I still miss her every day so my sponsor money is in her memory

I am actually crying reading this post.....the paperwork I recieved for the event say's that everyone in the world with have been affected by cancer some time, but it hits home when you read pepople's stories.
